  • Kelsea Nicole Ballerini was born in 1993 in Mascot, Tennessee. Her parents didn’t have anything to do with the music industry. However, they supported their daughter’s talents. When Kelsea was three, her mom paid for dancing lessons. She has been learning dancing for 10 years. While studying in middle school, Ballerini was singing in the choir. At 12, she wrote her first song and devoted it to her mother. At 13, the teenager learned how to play the guitar and quit dancing. At 14, she traveled to Nashville for an audition arranged by one of the labels. Kelsea didn’t pass. Despite the failure, in 2007, the teenager decided to move to Nashville. She attended high school there and enrolled in a local college upon graduating. During her sophomore year, Ballerini finally signed a contract with a label, Black River Entertainment. She decided to quit college and devote all of her time to her music career. In June 2014, the singer presented her debut single, “Love Me Like You Mean It”. It earned positive reviews from the critics and topped US Country Airplay Chart. The track made it into Billboard Hot 100 settling on the 45th position. It also became popular in Canada.

    In November 2014, Ballerini presented her first EP, Kelsea Ballerini, which brought her popularity. The EP reached the 12th spot of Heatseekers Albums Chart and came in 40th on Top Country Albums Chart. In February 2015, the young woman appeared on the radio with her popular song “Love Me Like You Mean It”. After that, many organizers started trying to book Kelsea Ballerini for private events. In May 2015, the young artist released her debut LP, The First Time. It reached the 4th positions of US Top Country Albums and US Independent Albums Charts. The album came in 31st on Billboard 200. In July, the singer presented a successful single “Dibs”, which topped Country Airplay Chart and settled on the 58th position of Billboard Hot 100. The single reached high spots on the Canadian country charts as well. In March 2016, Kelsea released a single “Peter Pan”, which earned her high scores from the critics for the highly emotional content. It was very popular among the singer’s fans and topped US Country Airplay and US Hot Country Songs charts. The track came in 35th on Billboard Hot 100 and fourth on Canada Country Chart.

  • In October 2016, the singer presented a new single “Yeah Boy”. The critics noted the lightness of the music and the lyrics similar to what Kelsea demonstrated in her early songs. The track reached high spots on the country charts in both the USA and Canada. It also edged its way into Billboard Hot 100, settling on the 95th position. In June 2017, the lead single from the upcoming LP, “Legends”, came out. It reached high spots on the country charts and settled on the 68th position of Billboard Hot 100. In November 2017, Kelsea Ballerini released her second LP, Unapologetically, which earned positive reviews from the music critics. The LP was commercially successful and reached the 7th spot of Billboard 200. In the UK and Canada, it topped country music charts.

    In March 2018, one of the singles from the album, “I Hate Love Songs”, reached the 25th spots of Country Airplay and US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles Chart. In September, together with The Chainsmokers, Kelsea recorded a single “The Feelings”, which was very successful on the US dance charts. In October, her single “Miss Me More” sold 83,000 copies in the USA. In April 2019, the singer is planning to tour the USA to support her latest LP, which was nominated for a Grammy Award as Best Country Album.
