Kris Kross Amsterdam

This is a band of Dutch DJs. Originally, the band was formed by Jordy and Sander Husiman who decided to name it in tribute of the rap duo Kris Kross. At first, they came up with the idea of their own performance at nightclubs. The style of their music can be described as a mix of R&B, hip-hop, funk and house. This unusual combination turned out to be so successful that the boys soon found themselves playing in every nightclub of Amsterdam. They presented to the public a number of singles and mixtapes before starting to work in collaboration with DJ Yuki Kempees in 2014. Their official debut single was presented to the public a year later. They signed a contract with Spinning Records that helped to release the single “Until the Morning”. The single turned out to be a hit and was viewed on YouTube millions of times. In 2016, in collaboration with Los Angeles’ Cheat Codes they produced the single “SEX”. It can be considered to be a half cover on the single “Let’s Talk About Sex” by Salt-N-Pepa. It was made available on Shopify and YouTube. On both the services, it became a hit. Besides, the single was awarded the “Platinum” status and was broadcast on the major radio stations in Russia, Europe and many other countries. This all resulted in Kris Kross Amsterdam gaining international popularity.

The same year, the band was invited to take part in numerous festivals. For example, on Ibiza, in Moscow, Amsterdam, Serbia and Belgium. In the end of the year, the boys celebrated their 5th year anniversary as a band. To celebrate it, a great party was held in Amsterdam. Besides, a documentary devoted to their activities during these 5 years was shot. True fans of the band can get some behind scenes information about the lives of its members and the creation of singles. After the work on the documentary was finished, a new single entitled “Are You Sure?” was presented to the public. This single was the result of collaboration with Conor Maynard (a UK-based popstar) and Ty Dolla $ign (a US-based musician). Almost instantly after the release, the single became a hit that was watched and listened to at least 15 million times on the Internet. It is becoming more and more popular.
