  • Sarah Connor (real name Sarah Lewe) was born on 13 June 1980 in Hamburg. Her father was a businessman. Her mom was an ex-model. The singer has four sisters and a brother. Sarah loved music since childhood. In her early years, she was a big fan of soul genre because it was her grandfather’s favorite. The girl sang in a church choir and then went to a music school. Sara was the only student in school, who was learning vocals but opted out of playing any musical instruments. She attended school once a week. The rest of the time, the young woman worked as a waiter to pay for her education. In 1997, Sarah got a chance to work at Michael Jackson’s German concert tour. Together with the choir, she performed the chorus for Jackson’s song “Heal The World” at the concert in Bremen. After that performance, she met Michael and talked to him. Soon she signed a contract with her first manager and adopted the first pseudonym, Sarah Gray (her mother’s maiden name). She recorded several tracks and cover versions to old hits.

Connor’s first official single, which made it into the charts, was a dance remix of the 1982 song “Last Unicorn”. The cover was recorded in 1999. After the release, the singer changed the manager and started performing under the pseudonym Sarah Connor, which was borrowed from a character of the movie “The Terminator”. While recording her debut album, Sarah worked with such popular producers as Adam Charon and TQ. The LP was called Green Eyed Soul. It came out in 2001. The album got positive reviews from the critics. The single “From Sarah with Love” became a huge hit. Many fans wanted to book Sarah Connor for private events just to hear her sing that song. The next LP, Unbelievable, came out 9 months later. The single “One Nite Stand” topped many charts all over the world. The album itself earned gold certification in Germany within two days after the release. The overwhelming success drove Sarah to record three new popular singles.

In 2002, Connor met her future husband Marc Terenzi from a band, Natural. The next year, she released a concert DVD, A Night to Remember. While being pregnant, Sarah continued working on her third LP, Key to My Soul. The single "Music Is the Key", recorded with the American band, Naturally 7, became gold.

The singer’s pregnancy caused problems for her husband-to-be Marc Terenzi, whose producer was against his relationship with Connor. He demanded Marc to leave her but the young man didn’t agree. Instead, he left the band and the rest of its members followed suit. The next album, Sarah Connor, came out in 2004. The disc received positive reviews from both the fans and critics. It earned several awards. For the first time, Connor’s album appeared on American charts. It charted 104th on Billboard 200. Sarah released her next LP in 2005. She called it Naughty But Nice. The LP earned several awards and became platinum. Due to the second pregnancy, the singer had to cancel a tour in support of the album, which was planned for the winter. In 2006, Sarah gave birth to a daughter.

In the spring of 2007, Sarah Connor recorded a new LP, Soulicious, which featured cover versions of old hits and several new songs. The album went gold. In 2008, Sarah divorced Terenzi. It was a big surprise for fans of them both. In the music world, marriage seemed perfect. Connor went through depression but didn’t stop working on the next LP, Real Love.
